What is it about bathing with a natural soap that is so incredibly luxurious? I think for me it is the wonderfully soft lather, the cleaning but not stripping my skin dry feeling, and the oh-so wonderful natural smell.
If you guessed that I have a new favorite natural bar soap, you are right on. It’s Indigo Wild’s Zum Bar lavender oatmeal soap. In other words, pure Heaven which I found at my local health store and could smell and cut to whatever size I wanted. There was a number of different scents, but the oatmeal really caught my eye.
I normally buy natural soaps at the farmers or artisans market and sometimes even craft shows, but it’s been one long winter and I haven’t had a whole lot of market options. Thus I turned to my local health store and was pleasantly surprised to find this soap.
After reading a bit more about Indigo Wild, located in Kansas City, I’ve learned that the soaps are completely hand-made and that goat’s milk is used because it has a pH almost exactly the same as our skin. My lavender oatmeal soap also contains 100% food grade olive, coconut, palm and castor oils with oatmeal and pure essential oils. It really is very moisturizing, but also cleans and feels great.
Amazing how all this is possible without any detergents and artificial smells, right? I don’t want to clean and strip my body of natural oils with petroleum based ingredients, preservatives, and other things I can’t even pronounce. Natural, hand-made soap is more expensive but in my mind it’s totally worth it.
Indigo Wild also has a slogan I can’t help but love: “any more natural, and you’d be naked”. Props to a cool company making great, all-natural products (which they have many)! I’ll have to check and see if my local health store carries any others on my next trip.
If you haven’t tried using all-natural soap yet, I highly recommend it. Give your body a treat and maybe even support a local business at the same time!

I’m always on the lookout for new natural soaps. I find many of them leave my skin incredibly dry. This one looks worth a try. I love their slogan too! Thanks for sharing.
I have been using natural soaps for quite a long time now, usually they are hand-made as well as your lavender oatmeal one. Thanks for the tip though, I’ll try to order some of those on the internet to try them. The soaps I like the most are the ones made with olive oil ingredient. Olive oil has very positive effect on the skin. You should try them if you come across some of those.
Thanks for visiting ladies! Natural soaps are the best :)
Elli, I also really like when they contain olive oil!
