Cleaning with a “Twist”

Cleaning with a “Twist”

One of my favorite new cleaning tools is a TWIST European Sponge Cloth which I picked up at a eco-friendly store nearby. A pack of 3 was $3.99 and mine are all white, but I see there are some cool colored ones available online, even on Amazon.

These sponges clothes are plant based and completely biodegradable. According to the label, 1 sponge cloth can outlast 17 rolls of paper towel!

The sponges are pretty hard until you get them wet, but then they turn into wonderful cleaning sponges (almost cloth-like) and they rinse out so clean (of dust, grime, etc.), definitely better than any wipe or even cotton cloth I have used. They are meant to be used over and over again for wiping, cleaning, and drying in the kitchen, bathroom, etc. I find that they also work great for dusting wood furniture if I wring them out well.

I haven’t tried this yet, but if you want to deep clean your sponge after some good use, you can actually put it right in the dishwasher. You can also sterilize it by boiling.

I particularly love combining these sponges with my natural, homemade cleaning products because I feel like I am doing a favor to the earth. I hate throwing paper towel away after a one-time use and these clean even better. The best part is I have yet to wear one out.
