Disc Recovery Discovery

Have you ever discarded a disc because it was scratched and skipping? I know I have. Even if you take the best care of your CDs and DVDs, skips happen.

But of course, nature has an answer. You can actually restore the playability of your discs by buffing them with a banana!

It’s simple. Just gather:

1 organic banana (and here‘s why I say organic), peeled and cut into a flat edge

1 ammonia-free glass cleaner (reject any cleaning product that contains ammonia)

1 soft cloth

Step 1) Guide a flat edge of banana in small circles around the entire surface area of the disc once until there is a thin layer of goo

Step 2) Guide the peel of the banana (interior side down) in small circles around the entire surface area of the disc (which moves the goo around too)

Step 3) Spray a small amount of the cleaner on the disc and wipe clean with the cloth.

That’s it! You are now ready to turn the music, back up!

This has worked like a charm on discs with minor scratches, and on a disc that was severely scratched I was able to recover 60-80% of the songs that were previously unplayable.

Let us know how it works for you!
