Peanut Butter & Banana Smoothie

Peanut Butter & Banana Smoothie

I came across a delicious looking peanut butter/chocolate shake recipe online and decided that a healthier (still delicious version) must exist. I surfed the web and came across a recipe for peanut butter smoothies that used milk and bananas along with carob powder instead of chocolate syrup and ice cream. I made this version, but then made a couple of modifications to my taste.

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup ice
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tsp carob powder
  • 1 tsp honey (optional)

I like this modified recipe better so that I don’t have to freeze bananas in advance and still enjoy a nice cold smoothie. Also, my organic peanut butter unfortunately had some sugar added so I did not use honey with it. When I had previously used a more natural peanut butter, 1 tsp honey added a good amount of sweetness, but you can always adjust based on the ingredients you like most. Just add everything to the blender, mix, and enjoy.
