You are correct Ryan - some people are able to tolerate it better than aspartame, but it's important to know that sucralose is created (in part) from restructured CHLORINE molecules. Caution is advised. I have also heard of people getting unbearable migraines from taking sucralose.

It's just so crazy. In nearly every restaurant you go to, on the table you have three choices; refined sugar, aspartame (Equal), or sucralose (Splenda). Sometimes I carry around my mini-stevia packets and stuff them in front of the caddy.

What's really great is, stevia is a fiber, which a lot of people don't get enough of. Not only does this sweetener NOT harm you, it improves your health! :)

I'd be interested to see research for or against Sucralose as an alternative to Aspartame. A quick google search seems to suggest it may be far less dangerous but still not without risk.

Fantastic reporting Michelle. You really dug deep into the chemical reactions of this product in our bodies, and I think after reading this, no one will be able to look at a can of Diet Coke the same.

Have you looked into the story of how they actually got aspartame to be cleared at the FDA? It has to do with a certain Donald Rumsfeld and a LONG money trail...

I heard a really scary story once too, about the effects of formaldehyde at high temperatures. An old friend's brother used to drink a two liter of Diet Coke every day. One day, his family walked into his home and found him unconscious on the couch. The only thing next to him was his briefcase and an empty bottle of diet coke.

They rushed him to the emergency room where he remained in a COMA for WEEKS. It got to the point where doctors didn't think they could do anything for him - and could find NO cause other than the diet coke. He lived in a warm climate and would typically leave it out - activating the creation of formaldehyde. Then, unknowingly drank it. Sadly, the doctors would not document this cause. The entire hospital staff drinks diet coke! It is all about $$$.

After intensive prayer and a miraculous recovery, one day he woke up. If I remember right, he never touched the poison again.

This story had a happy ending - but for many people, it doesn't. There are some great video clips on NaturalNews.com about how terribly aspartame has played in people's lives.

Of course, half my family is addicted to the stuff, and most people don't think it could ever happen to them until it does. However, for people who truly care about their bodies, families, and lifestyle, it's a no-brainer why we don't want aspartame in our brains.
