Homemade Facial Scrub & Mask

Homemade Facial Scrub & Mask

If you are in need of an easy homemade recipe for a moisturizing facial scrub and mask, look no further than this post! After browsing some yahoo answers for a homemade facial cleanser I came across this sweet, sugary scrub.

The recipe calls for only three ingredients which you likely have in your pantry at this very moment: extra virgin olive oil, granulated sugar, and honey. I cut the recipe in half for my first try and mixed 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil, and 1 tablespoon honey in a small plastic container.

The mixture was not too oily and blended into a nice soft substance. I splashed water on my face and applied the scrub gently and evenly to my skin in small circles. The sugar seemed to work as a good exfoliator, but I made sure to apply it softly to avoid damaging my skin. I let the scrub dry on my face for two minutes (this is the “mask” part) and then rinsed it off with warm water.

My face was not sticky, but soft and extremely moisturized from the oil and honey combination. I have kept this mixture in my bathroom and used it 2-3 times already this week, with great results each time. The scrub does need a quick stir to redistribute the oil if it sits for a day or two, but otherwise it is ready to go. I highly recommend this recipe and hope that you will also enjoy the results!
