Delicate Disinfectant Cleaner

by Michelle on November 18, 2008

This past weekend, I made my favorite cleaning product yet- disinfectant all-purpose cleaner. The cleaner works exceptionally well and has the most wonderfully subtle aroma. It is #14 on the article “25 Safe, Non-toxic, Homemade Cleaning Supplies” and is a simple and effective home cleaning solution.

I bought a spray bottle from the local dollar store and added 2 cups of water to it. I then added a few drops of my unscented pure castile soap along with 15 drops each of lavender and tee tree essential oils. I gave it a good shake and it was ready to use!

This oil mixture made the most delightful scent and my whole bathroom had a lovely smell once I finished cleaning it. I used it on the cupboard around the sink, the toilet, outside of the tub, and on the trim around the bathroom. It didn’t work as well as I had hoped on the sink, but made up for that on every other surface I tried!

Later on in the weekend, I accidentally sprayed it on my glass kitchen table (against the article’s recommendation) and it actually did not leave any streaks at all. I will definitely use it on glass and many other surfaces in my household from now on. It is a safe and natural cleaner and according to the article where I discovered it, safe enough to use even on your baby! Can you say that about your store-bought household cleaner?

I love this! It smells so great, and works awesome! I watched it literally dissolve the grossness before my very eyes. Thank you so much for this gift!
